So yep! I’m moving out of my parents house and it’s about time! I’ve been dying to do this for years, but I never could save up the money nor could I as an 18 year old with a part time job afford to do. But me and two friends have decided that we are sick of our abusive parents and that we need to get out, and quick.
All three of us have jobs, but they are all part time jobs being that we all have classes, which means we only make about $200 every two weeks. And while that’s enough to rent a place we fall a little short on the down payment plus pet deposit ( one dog and a snake ). So I’m here to ask out of the kindness of your hearts to commission me.
I can do anything from sketches to paintings to digital art. Prices vary depending on the complexity of what your wanting and the character.
But I do understand that not everyone can afford to commission me so if you can’t please please reblog this.
and if you can and are wanting to commission me please contact me through Tumblrs messenger or through asks.
Actually, the ‘you’re welcome’/’no problem’ issue is simply a linguistics misunderstanding. Older ppl tend to say you’re welcome, younger ppl tend to say no problem. This is because for older people the act of helping or assiating someone is seen as a task that is not expected of them, but is them doing extra, so it’s saying ‘I accept your thanks because I know I deserve it.’
‘No problem’, however, is used because younger people feel not only that helping or assisting someone is a given and expected, but also that it should be stressed that you’re need for help was no burden to them (even if it was).
Basically, older people think help is a gift you give, younger people think help is an expectation required of them.
DAMN STRAIT.
Basic Millennial complaint: “I want shelter and economic security.”
Some bitter old man: “WHAT THE FUCK? WHO TOLD YOU THAT YOU DESERVE ANYTHING? THANK ME WHEN YOU BAG MY GROCERIES FOR ME, PEON.”

Wata no Kuni Hoshi (The Star of Cottonland) - 1984 film based on Yumiko Oshima’s manga and animated by Mushi Productions
I watched this movie last night and it was so cute and charming. I can’t believe I hadn’t heard of it before. Don’t be like me, go watch it right now if you can!
Also here’s some cover art of the VHS, a artbook (?), and a doll box
Reblog if it is 100% okay for your followers to message you about their day asking for help or if they just want to talk
Her name is Theresa Kachindamoto, and she is a senior chief - political leader of a region with a population of about 900,000 people.
She didn’t run for election; she was appointed, without her knowledge, while she was living and working in a completely different part of the country. She just received a call one day telling her to come back to her childhood home, because she was in charge now.
So she did; and when she arrived, she discovered widespread sexual abuse of children. She browbeat 50 uncooperative local leaders into accepting her decision to annul all the marriages. She then fired four of them when they continued to allow children to be married off in their areas. She still faces widespread opposition from parents who consider it their right to sexually abuse their daughters if they want to; but Kachindamoto very evidently does not give a fuck, and is continuing to use political and legal means to protect children in the region.
She’s not just an anonymous do-gooder; she’s an effective political leader despite incredibly difficult circumstances. Theresa Kachindamoto.
Wow! I never heard of this story! And this is both amazing and sad, and typical for the past… They were used as the circus saw fit! And their mom was very very strong, especially during that time.
I noticed, Leonardo DiCaprio
is producing a film adaption of the book, Truevine - Two Brothers, a Kidnapping and a Mother’s Quest: A True Story of the American South.
But I think stories about black people must have been told by black people.
